Amy Canning
Amy began her yoga journey several years ago practicing at local gyms/fitness centers, yoga studios and at home. In the summer of 2022 after teaching second grade during the pandemic, she felt like she was spinning in circles “like a tornado.” Amy found she needed yoga a lot more in her life, so she began practicing more frequently at the studio and at home. After practicing she would always feel more grounded and lighter and felt she was able to handle the pressures of the world with a lot more calmness and grace!
Considering Amy’s love of learning and teaching, in the summer of 2023 she enrolled in a 200 YTT at Shanteel Yoga Sanctuary in Sellersville, Pa. A journey she was grateful she had the opportunity to experience!
She completed her 200 YTT in June of 2024. If that wasn’t enough, she decided she wanted to immerse herself even more into the world of yoga, so she traveled to Costa Rica and completed her 300 YTT at Vida Asana, in December of 2024. During her training in Costa Rica, Amy was also attuned to practice Reiki, providing a holistic approach to yoga through energy-balancing techniques.
Amy recently retired from teaching second grade and is now ready to inspire adults and children to live calmer and more grounded lives through yoga! She wants her students to be able to be their authentic selves and feel comfortable practicing yoga, no matter what their level might be!
When not on her mat, Amy loves to read, travel, dance, sing, and listen to live music! She thrives on being a lifelong learner, continuing to work on her yoga practice, and living a healthy lifestyle! Amy lives in Harleysville and loves to visit and spend time with her blind senior English Bulldog named Auggie!
